Hand embroidered in Kashmir

A surface shaped by thousands of stitches.

Hand Aari embroidery in our Kashmir workshop.

An Aari is a small hooked tool, guided entirely by hand. With it, Kashmiri artisans draw thread into linked stitches, building curves, leaves and colour across the fabric.

Look closely and you’ll see the small variations that make each hand-embroidered surface distinctive.

For the floor. Or a favourite wall.

A textured accent underfoot, or a complete composition to display on your wall.

From the first line to the final stitch

  1. Design

The motifs and their arrangement establish the rug's composition.

  2. Chain stitch

The artisan guides the Aari by hand, drawing thread into linked stitches.

  3. Pattern takes shape

Stitches build into curves and motifs, gradually filling the surface with colour.

  4. Finishing

The embroidered surface and edges are carefully checked before the rug is ready.
