Artisan Hard Work
Every stitch on our shawls is the result of months of focused, hand-done work. Skilled Kashmiri artisans pour their hearts into crafting these patterns by hand, ensuring each embroidery stands out making each one special. They use simple tools to create beautiful designs that last. The care they take is felt in the warmth and uniqueness of every piece. When you choose one of our shawls, you're holding more than fabric; you're holding a story woven by patient, dedicated hands.

This badge, issued by the Craft Development Institute (CDI), is stitched exclusively onto shawls that are certified as 100% Pure Pashmina — Hand Spun, Hand Woven, and Hand Crafted in Kashmir. At Kashmkari, we are proud to share that every single one of our Pashmina shawls carries this mark of authenticity and trust.

Preserving KASHMKARI'S
150 Years of Heritage
Our Late great-grandfather Peerzada Saif-Ud-Din and his master craftsmen weaved the first piece of Kashmiri art around 150 years ago. We are preserving and spreading this heritage with indigenous artisanal handicrafts that speak to your soul.
Kashmiri Artistry
Behold the raw, unrefined beauty of Pashmina as nature intended. In this image, you witness the authentic beginnings of a journey from the high altitudes of the Himalayas to the heart of KashmKari's cherished offerings. Harvested with care from the Changthangi goat, each fiber of raw Pashmina is a whisper of luxury waiting to be heard.
Enveloped within this natural bounty are the finest undercoat hairs, a delicate veil of warmth coveted for centuries. Through skilled hands, we embark on a meticulous process to unveil the purest essence of Pashmina. We carefully comb away the coarser guard hairs and lovingly cleanse away the pastoral traces of the Changthangi's roamings.
What emerges is the soul of Pashmina—exquisitely soft, feather-light, and ready to be transformed into an heirloom. At KashmKari, we embrace this transformation with reverence, ensuring that the Pashmina that graces your skin is as pure as the artisanal heritage it upholds.

This Pashmina shawl is crafted from yarn spun entirely by hand on a traditional charkha (spinning wheel) by skilled Kashmiri artisans.
Hand spinning of Pashmina involves cleaning and softening the raw fibers, often by soaking them in a rice and water mixture, then manually separating and straightening the fibers using carding combs. These prepared fibers are then twisted into yarn on a spinning wheel, or Charkha, a painstaking process requiring patience and skill to avoid breakage and create the fine thread.
The result is a delicate yarn, too fragile for power looms yet perfect for hand-weaving into Pashmina shawls of unparalleled softness and finesse. This painstaking process is what gives true hand-spun Pashmina its rarity, heritage, and heirloom value.
